Kiting
25 April 2008Imagine yourself carving through the waves and effortless jumping 10 meters in the air with only the help from your kite, board and mother nature. It’s easy and fun to learn, packs small and is not that expensive. No wonder that kiting has taken off in every corner of the World! Once you tried it, it becomes very addictive.
Kitesurfing or kiteboarding is done on the water and it’s the most popular form of kiting. The kites have inflatable tubes so that they could be easily relaunched from the water. A harness takes most of the power and the steering is done with a control bar. The board looks like a wakeboard (for getting big airs) or like surfboards (to surf the waves). It’s definately the most dynamic and fun watersports, the speed record is more than 50 knots!
Other versions of traction kiting is on snow with skis or snowboards, on land with a buggy or mountainboard and even on ice with skates.
