What can we say? If you are into kiting you’re sure to get a well shaped body. Just have a look at theese hot looking kiters that are constantly gracing us with their presence on the beach and in the water.

Asskicking

Last weekend there were ass kicking thermals in Tapalpa, more than 8m/s and cloud base around 4500m. When you core one of those bullets, it’s hard not to let out a “yihaaa!” sound. It only takes a few minutes to reach cloud base where to cool air and high altitude makes you feel very exposed.

A great thing about this season is that it’s both flyable and kitable in the same time. Next year we want to organize fly & kite trips that combines the two activities in one trip at the peak of the season for both. One of the best take-offs in the World is Tapalpa. With easy access, ameneties, restaurant/bar and grassy launch it’s actually enjoyable to bring your family there!

It’s not that Chente hates other kiters, he just hates when they come to close to his students! Check out this picture where he is trowing something at a well known local that loves being in your face! Actually we love other kiters, but please learn the rules of navigation and stay away from our students!

Lifestyle

Kiting becomes for many a lifestyle. Following the wind during the seasonal changes, travelling to exotic places and living life to pursue their passion. Here in the Bay of Flags we kiters have become a group of friends, like a large family that is hunting for the wind, eating, drinking and chillin’ together. Yesterday we all went to Punta de Mita to kite in the open ocean with the big waves. It was awesome to see that about 20 kiters came to the white-soft-sandy beach. Many kiters tends to leave their job and old life behind to get a new start as a beach bum. Call it escapism if you like, we call it a lifestyle by choice.

Overhauled

After weeks of changing all screws, wires and strange looking bits and pieces, the trike is now completely overhauled and fully operational. We took it for a spin yesterday in the sunset and what a beautiful flight it was! Some of our kiter friends where still at the beach and they all jumped up and down with excitement as we buzzed them right over their heads. The light was perfect and we took several aerial photos of a house in Bucerias that was ordered and many others of the luxury homes on the beach.

Getting high

Chuck was totally relaxed on the take-off and during our flight from Conchas Chinas, he didn’t worry at all. He even managed to take a couple of pictures while enjoying the spectacular view. It wasn’t until we descended towards the landing field (with a fairly soft spiral dive) that he started to let out some “oooh, oooooh, aaaah” sounds.

We did a perfect landing infront of Daiquiri Dicks restaurant on the beach in the old town of Vallarta. He was so stoked with the flight so when he comes back next year with his family, he will let me fly with his daughter.

Girl power

Yesterday we broke another record, we had 6 women kiting in our school! It was also the strongest day of the season (so far), close to 30 knots and it was great seeing Karen and Paula getting up on their boards. The strong conditions can be a little intimidating, but if you take our beginner class, you will feel much safer.

One way isn’t that bad

Dax, a visiting firefighter/kiter is just learning how to get going on his board and he can go one way now. If your connected like Dax, it isn’t that bad. His technique is to land close to an all incusive hotell further down the beach, get invited by some chicks and enjoy free beers in the pool until someone comes and pick him up.
